Description: The Executive Director of the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation is
responsible for leading and managing a successful, decade-old
organization with the mission of connecting youth and adults through
mentoring, jobs and careers, community service and leadership for a
healthy community.
The OVYF has been recognized as a statewide leader
in community youth development. With its philosophy of youth-adult
partnership, the OVYF includes young people as respected partners at
every level of the organization, including the board of directors. The
organization is a “civic partner,” working collaboratively with
schools, government, police, service groups, businesses and others to
strengthen the overall community in support of youth. The Executive
Director leads a staff of three full-time and three part-time staff
members, and an annual budget of more than $400,000.
Programs include
after-school jr. high age mentoring programs, the Oak View Teen Center,
Generation Communications, a youth media agency, a Youth Employment Service, an annual
Martin Luther King Day Celebration, annual summer Teen Insight
Seminars, and other activities responsive to the needs of the
community. The organizational culture is friendly, relaxed, supportive
